The County of Kauai and the Kauai Economic Development Board have launched COVID-19 economic relief in the form of a home efficiency self-audit (HESA) program. The primary goal of this program is to provide immediate and permanent economic relief to Kauai residents affected by COVID-19.
Other goals include:
- to help the county become more economically resilient: money spent on utility bills often means money leaving Kauai to buy oil, rather than recirculating within the county to provide a better local economy and more jobs
- to help Kauai achieve its goal of 100% clean energy by 2045
- to help fight global climate disruption by reducing carbon pollution from energy generation
So just how effective is this efficiency program?
Here is the on-going summary of the impacts of the County of Kauai’s Home Efficiency Self-Audit program for COVID-19 economic relief. This page will be updated regularly as more homes get energy efficiency measures every day!
